Detailed product description

For almost everyone meal times are pleasant occasions, enjoying the food and the conversations with others.

For people with autistic spectrum disorders however these occasions can be complicated, rather chaotic and turbulent events that may even be experienced as threatening.

Lack of structure can turn meal times into very stressful events, both for themselves and the people around them.

The Place-it-easy aims to remedy that situation. Designed as a placemat the Place-it-easy provides the user with structure during meal times. The tangible moulded shapes show the user clearly where to find and place the plate, knife, fork, spoon, sandwiches and a mug.
There is also a space for a dessert or soup bowl. The Place-it-easy is available in different models, so you can choose a placemat which best fits your sitation.

The Place-it-easy is designed to avoid any unnecessary stimuli, that could cause distraction and confusion. Finally, the Place-it-easy has a slot in which icons or other communication cards can be placed. Click here for a detailed description of the Place-it-easy.

The Place-it-easy is used as well in home-situations as in for example day-care-centres. Click here for experiences and opinions.
